About us
METHT stands for My English Teacher Hates That — and the name already tells you a lot.
The brand was born from a very specific kind of confusion:
the moment when something makes perfect sense in Portuguese…
until you translate it literally into English.
And suddenly, it doesn’t.
Brazilian Portuguese is full of expressions, slang, and sounds that only work inside the language. When translated word by word — or when they’re simply misheard — they turn into phrases that sound funny, awkward, or completely wrong in English.
That’s exactly where METHT lives.
We turn these lost-in-translation moments into clean, modern T-shirts.
No long explanations on the design. No hand-holding.
If you get it, you get it.
If you don’t… your English teacher probably wouldn’t approve anyway.
METHT is made for bilingual minds, Brazilians abroad, language learners, and anyone who has ever laughed at the chaos between languages.
It’s not about perfect English.
It’s about cultural contrast, sound confusion, literal translations, and wearing the joke proudly.
Welcome to the club your English teacher hates.
